The Sign of the Storms: Hurricane Milton
November 12, 2024
On October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton made landfall in Sarasota, Florida as a powerful Category 3 hurricane. Milton was an unusual storm. It didn’t form over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. It formed in the waters off the coast of Mexico in the Bay of Campeche in the southwest Gulf. It then traveled east across the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in Florida several days later.
Forecasters had correctly predicted Milton’s weakening. It was expected to hit dry windshear before making landfall. At its peak, Milton was one of the most powerful hurricanes on record and achieved sustained 180 mph winds, but late forecasts projected sustained winds to decrease to 130 MPH.
Milton threatened Tampa Bay, Florida’s second most populous metro area, with potentially devastating flooding. Tampa Bay remained within the forecast cone of probability until hours before landfall. Had the storm tracked a little further north, it would have pushed a massive amount of Gulf water onto land causing massive flooding. Thankfully, Milton missed Tampa and made landfall further south. The counterclockwise westerly winds that hit Tampa Bay north of the hurricane eye spared it from what could have been the worst storm surge flooding since 1848. It pushed water away from the Bay out to sea and not towards it.
This year, prior to Milton, storm surge had already caused significant damage to the Gulf Coast. Milton was the 3rd Hurricane that made landfall in Florida this year. The first two, Debbie and Helene, caused devastating storm surge damage and coastal flooding to the region (not to mention devastation further north in the Big Bend area where they both made landfall). Areas on the Gulf Coast already impacted by coastal and inland flooding were facing, with Milton, a direct hit from the 3rd named storm of the season.
In addition, its forecast cone indicated that it could track directly over heavily populated cities in central Florida before exiting out into the Atlantic. A powerful direct hit to Tampa, followed by a still powerful storm tracking up the I4 corridor was a concern to all of central Florida. People were fearful that Milton could be a worst-case scenario storm for the Florida Gulf Coast and a significant impact to inland Florida that was already saturated by heavy rains caused by the prior storms.
Two years prior, the eye of Category 4 Hurricane Ian made landfall a little further south in Fort Myers, Florida. Maximum sustained winds were 155 MPH at landfall which is near Category 5 strength. Like Milton, Ian was forecasted to weaken before making landfall, but it never did. On the day the storm made landfall, Florida residents awakened to the news that the storm had strengthened overnight. I mention this because this late strengthening–instead of predicted weakening–made some residents rightly skeptical that Milton, which was similarly forecasted to weaken, would actually not weaken as expected.
Thankfully, Milton turned out to be far less devastating than it potentially could have been. While still over the Gulf, it emerged from an eyewall replacement cycle with maximum sustained winds decreased to 160 MPH. The dry windshear also did its job further reducing max winds. But something else happened to Milton as it made landfall. It had further weakened in the hours before landfall to 120 MPH, but more importantly, the eye of Milton disorganized right before landfall reducing max wind speeds on the southern and eastern edges of the eye as it pressed onto shore. The strongest winds and rain were on the northwest edge of the eyewall where winds were moving away from the coast, not towards it. It was the combination of the last second disorganization of the eyewall combined with the path of landfall south of Tampa Bay that spared Florida what could have been far worse devastation including the complete destruction of high population density Tampa Bay communities.
I knew that God had spared Florida worse destruction by taking the wind out of Milton’s sails a bit before it came ashore. The Lord revealed to me why. I was prepared to share my testimony of His revelation, but instead He chooses to speak directly to you, the reader.
Prophecy November 11, 2024
I, the Lord, heard the cry of the people that were still reeling from the effects of the rains and floods that preceded Milton, and I relented and placed my thumb upon the eye and weakened it. I steered it to the south away from the path of maximum devastation. I calmed it just enough to lessen the harm that it caused.
I heard the cries of a multitude. I saw the tears of many, yet this did not persuade me. I heard the cries of my saints, and I marked their homes for protection, but this did not change my mind. I was moved by the hearts of many that cried out in repentance and made promises to me to change their ways if I spared their homes. This, I inclined my ears to. Today, if you hear my voice, do not harden your hearts. I answered your prayers. I spared your homes. I have not forgotten the promises that you have made in the time of your distress. Keep your word. Seek my face. Do not forget.
I heard more than 100,000 voices crying out. I mourn because many will forget the promises that they made in the dark hour when the threat of Milton loomed over them; when the destruction of Debbie and Helene were still fresh on their minds. If only you would keep your word and seek me in Spirit and truth, and worship me and serve me only, how much blessing would I pour out upon the cities and towns of Florida. Oh, how I could use such an army of faithful ones.
Do not harden your hearts. Do not break your oaths. Keep them and see how much blessing I would pour out upon you and your households. When my judgments are in the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Now is the time to abide in me and let your repentance take root. It is not the time to forget your “hasty words” made under duress. I broke you. I convicted you. I gave you that moment of clarity. I spoke to your heart. I answered your prayers. Answer the call. Come follow me. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Your eyes have been opened, if just for a moment. Don’t allow them to close again.
I, the Lord Jesus, am coming soon, but there is still work left to do before my return, before that great and dreadful day. Continue, my faithful ones, to pray for a spirit of repentance, and to pray for revival. The Third Day revival, the greater glory of the latter house, has not yet been revealed, but soon will be. Make yourselves ready to feed the hungry refugees that I will humble through my judgments and that I will call apart from this world that will pass away. The glory of this house will be greater than the former and I will have a remnant that will rule this world with me with a rod of iron.
I have much more to say, and I will visit you through my word spoken through my chosen vessel, yet this time of visitation will not last long. Do you recognize the times and seasons? Then listen and learn and receive your food at the proper time.
Peace to you all. I’m out.
